If you’re familiar with my blog and my Instagram you know I collect fabrics, mostly quilters cotton.
On March 30th, 2020 I started making masks and donating to medical professionals and essential workers. I’ve made a little over 300 masks with donations from family and friends.
Naturally I’m running low on fabrics and to keep with my theme of quality fabrics and shopping small, I’m shopping at Quilters Cottage in Fallbrook, California. Jan (the owner) has carefully curated fabrics from Batiks, Tula Pink and of course my favorite The Ghastlies. I’ve made three trips to the shop because I know that I can get the quality I need and I’m helping a small business. And guess what they also offers curb side pick up.
Quilters Cottage has the fabrics, thread, elastic and interfacing you need to make a high quality mask. I’ve picked up a lot of Tula Pink (Zuma line) because well it’s California. Also the batiks have been really popular and I think that tight weave is perfect for masks. They’re a Bernina dealer so if you need a sewing machine, a service or a class they’ve got you covered.
I ask you to please shop small. You’re helping a small business and making high quality masks with their fabrics.
Stay safe friends.
